This is the last video in this series. It’s unavoidable to look back at the beginning of the series. It’s unavoidable to look at the whole process and its learnings. It’s unavoidable to look at the future and see where I’ll be thanks to this experience. In short it’s unavoidable to look at my expectations and how they were met or not.
Well, at the beginning I said that I wanted to see how I could embody my own light. Yes, that was true and yes, I was able to achieve that intention.
However I now see that I also had other expectations, the secret expectations, the unspoken expectations. I expected that at least one of my videos would go viral. I expected that I would get hundreds of views and compliments. Sure! There was vanity behind my expectations. Did that happen? NO! It didn’t to this date, the statistics of my videos do express a failure on this expectation.
BUT
What did happen? Well I got connected with amazing people, a handful of people, but truly inspiring and profound people.
Even more, I realized that elements of who I am that I had hidden are becoming indeed the cornerstone of my future AND that that is the big learning for me. To look where I didn’t dare and embrace it, welcome it.
So, what’s the lesson: drop your expectations! While you hold on to them, you’ll miss the true gifts of your journey.
