Today is the 21st of December 2012. According to the Mayan Calendar, the count of time finishes today.
This has been linked with all kind of information: astrological, climatic and of course social. So it has been concluded by many that today is the end of the world.
Yesterday I saw the red sky in the morning and had to remember the warning:
Red sky at night; shepherds delight,
Red sky in the morning; shepherds warning
I also saw birds flying in random patterns. I remember my childhood of constant earthquakes in Mexico city.
Were they all signs of the end of the world?
“Coincidentally” the work of Galileo Galilei came to my experience also yesterday. He was the first one in the Western World (this was common knowledge in quite some cultures outside the Western world!) to state that the Earth moved around the sun and not the other way around. One of the arguments of his critics was that if this was so, we would feel the movement of the Earth and we don’t. To answer this criticism, he compared our experience to that of fishes in a fishbowl. When the entire fishbowl moves, the fishes do not experience the movement, as their environment remains stable.
Could this be what is happening with us right now?
Is it possible that we won’t feel anything at the end of today? and conclude that nothing happened?
It’s indeed very possible! It’s very possible that this will be just another day. We will wake up, get our shower, go to work, meet customers, have our lunch, send some emails, laugh at the silly Mayans and go to bed.
But is it really just another day?
I don’t believe so. I do believe that something bigger than our conscious mind can perceive is happening. I don’t even attempt to explain what is going on. I won’t attempt to explain my feelings. My intention is to invite you to ask your intuition: what is going on? what can I learn from this? what if our fishbowl is now moving to another place? to another “dimension”? to another reality?
I invite you to take a look at what is going on. Take a look at what is going on in your business: what blessons (lessons + blessings) are there for you? Take a look at your family, take a look at your health, take a look at your anger, take a look at your depression, take a look at what is no longer in your life…
I invite you to take a look outside your own “fishbowl”. If were indeed moved to another dimension, what is there outside? wouldn’t your problems appear petty? totally insignificant? from that point of view how does your blessons change? Stand above, stand outside your fishbowl and look, carefully observe, your now. Isn’t it totally perfect?
I invite you to use this “artificial” milestone to reflect. Imagine for a moment that indeed, it was the end of the world AND the beginning of a new one. What can you learn from where you are? What would you do again? What would you change? What do you love? What are you grateful for?
What if today was indeed the end of the world? What if?

Why would people laugh at ”Silly Mayans” – its a strange comment. They Mayans were not silly, nor was anything about the Mayan Calendar. The silliness has come from people projecting what they wanted to believe onto the calendar. No different than what happened at the turn of the millennium. BTW the Mayans weren’t the only society that observed the stars. The Celts did it, hence why they buildt Stonehenge.
Totally with you, Kytelernl! Labelling silly ancient cultures is a tremendous obstacle to learn from the wonders they knew long ago. All kind of blessings to you, your work and your family!
